RE: who greenlighted the Aztek?
I have very solid information from an inside source that since 1974, all of the decisions at Pontiac have been made by the GM equivalent of a supercomputer* named Artie Shaw.
~~ * GM's Supercomputer: A bag of rice, three Malaysian crank whores, a TI-99/4A (w/voice synthesizer), a hologram picture of a dog, a box of lyrics and sheet music to all of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musicals, an orangutan (the operator), and a slide trombone. It is my understanding that they've strung each of these items together with taffetta, and keep the whole unit in a disused beer cooler somewhere at the bottom of the Indian Ocean. (GM Trivia: The recently trapped Russian submariners were actually on a mission to locate and hijack this machine.)
